Add Alexa New Version Widget to your blog

Friday, July 11, 2014

If you're new to blogging then Alexa and Google page rank may both sound strange to you. However if you're familiar with Google Page rank then you should be aware of Alexa as well. Alexa ranks your website among others globally. This helps you to know how your site is performing among its competitors. In order for Alexa to keep track of your sites performance especially in terms of traffic, you will need to add its widget in your blog.

How to Add the new Alexa Widget to your blog?

Those of you who knows Alexa previously will realize that its website design has changed. This has made it very difficult to generate a widget to be placed on your blog unlike previously. But I am going to show you how to add the widget to your blog with ease!

Add Alexa New Version Widget to your blog
At first you only had to enter your site's address and click just a button and a code will be generated. But things have changed!

Step 1:

Go to www.alexa.com and enter your domain

Alexa will show your global ranking if you got any

Step2:

Sign up with Alexa, if you haven't done so already. After completing the sign up process, click on Add My site followed by your Domain name.

After you do this you will be given a unique HTML code. Place the code in the section of your theme or template, save it  and click on verify to get verified with Alexa.

After you had done it successfully, follow the 3rd step, last step.

Step3:

Copy the code below and place it wherever you want to show your Alexa rank.

<a href="http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/talky-tech.com"><script type="text/javascript"src="http://xslt.alexa.com/site_stats/js/t/a?url=talky-tech.com"></script></a>

Please be sure to make this important changes!

Replace "talky-tech" with your domain name.

You will now see Alexa widget live on your blog. Happy ranking!

Thanks for staying with me. I really appreciate your time and concern. Please do me a favour by sharing this great post with your friends. This is all I ask in return for this awesome tutorial.

  1. Something weird happened. My traffic is constant but Alexa Ranking dropped quite high. Why? I don't have the reason but I am guessing an algorithm change...

    Any idea or suggestion?

  2. Well, am not sure what happened but sometimes removing the widget from the site might affect your ranking. With the widget placed on your site gives alexa an accurate performance of your site.
